Rainy Day Monday

It looks like work today is a rain out. Tomorrow doesn’t look that good either so it could be a busy three days Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. My partner can’t clean on Thursday or Friday and we easily have 5 full days of work. This will be our biggest week so far if we can get mother nature to cooperate. We rescheduled our house this morning and added another house for next Monday. We have 3 big jobs that will take both of us to do and possibly only one day to do them in (Wednesday). As always, I will do my best to get everything done.

Last night, I created a new blog that has my NaNoWriMo Novel on it (January’s Warmness). It should make it easier for people to navigate if they just want to read my novel. You can find it here. This year, my NaNoWriMo novel will be placed on that blog. I believe I have all the links in my table of contents done correctly.

I talked to the kids several times throughout the day yesterday. Mom is going nuts with all six kids home for the week. I told Kayla I was thinking of taking them to my uncle’s house this weekend up north. There is a rabbit show this Saturday near there. The boys were a little less excited about it until I told them of all the teenage girls that show rabbits, including the one in my blog post with the mini-rex. Kevin is excited about the Detroit Tigers opening day game today. I’m sure he’ll watch the game on TV. Kayla had a sleepover this past weekend and had a great time. Tyler is, well Tyler. He’s wants to find someone to go to prom with. He did write a new song. I wish he would get some more confidence in his voice and sing a little louder. I think his songs are heartfelt and good. Teenagers would love them if he carried his voice.

Back to Opening Day. I also am excited about the new season for the Tigers. I think they should do well this year. I am a little concerned about the bullpen, but hopefully the starters can carry the team. Scoring shouldn’t be a problem. If they can just keep their ERA down, they will be fine. The forecast for the game looks good for the Detroit area. I hope the rain holds off there. I may try to find someplace to watch the game.

I finished the two books I was reading, one of which I read twice. I got a lot of useful information out of them. One of the books dealt with communication skills and the other with emotions. I started on the third book and plan on reading more of that today. The third book deals more with family communication and includes non verbal communication as well as verbal communication. It also delves more into family communication where I have some trouble. I have had trouble talking to the kids at times. I think this book will help with that. Kevin has started opening up to me a little. I don’t think I express how proud I am of them at times.

Also, last night, I discovered that Pogo has a freecell game on their site. I ended up played 5 or 6 games last night. My guest membership expired, so now I have to wait between games for the ads. Maybe when I get a little more settled financially I will get a full membership. I met a lot of nice people on the site and still talk to a few of them on IM. One of them is a single father from Lansing that has twin girls that he has custody of. He seems like a good guy. some of them are pretty funny people. The room we were in one day was real quiet. Then, someone came into the room and started a batch of drama. Another guy and I started talking about our “blow-up dolls” (which neither of us own) and had the whole room rolling on the floor in no time at all. The drama queen quickly left the room and everybody had fun. I am becoming more and more comfortable talking to people.

I watched the NASCAR race at Martinsville yesterday. I don’t usually like the short track races as much, but it was a good race. Denny Hamlin pulled out the win. It looked the whole race like one of the Hendricks cars would win. There was a lot of action. Jeff Burton took over the points lead from Kyle Busch. The next race (Sunday at 1:30pm) will be at Texas Motor Speedway.

I hope everyone has a great day today!

  1. All great stuff!

Have you tried the ‘test’ that helps you figure out what your Personality Type is? I put a link on my blog awhile back and can hunt it out for you again. It is so helpful in sorting out communication styles both in giving and in getting. It helped me immensely to realize that some people weren’t shutting me out, I was just not “speaking” to them in the way they are programmed to “hear”. I get a bit rabid on the subject (hee hee).

And you know I Loves Me Some Pogo!
