Rabbit show

Sooo . . . I was a real dumb a** last night/ this morning. I was having so much fun in the Pogo room I was in that I played until 4am. The girls were being kind of quite, so another guy and I started messing around. He started talking about his inflatable “girlfriend” and had me play along with it. It opened up the conversation and really ignited the room. Very few people left the room we were having so much fun. I ended up talking to people from all over the country last night, including Colorado, Seattle, Houston, Lansing, St Paul, and New York City. We talked about family, kids, and life in general. It was very light hearted and fun. I got out of the room at 4am so I could get ready to go to the rabbit show today.

We left my brother’s house at 5am for Mason, MI. We attended a double show near Lansing. There was one show in the morning and then another in the afternoon. We arrived there at 6:30am and started setting up. I spent the morning watching my niece show her rabbits. She won best of breed in the Dutch rabbit class. She ended up with over 10 ribbons for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Between shows, we ate lunch at the arena. I spent the afternoon walking around and watching the judging of the other breeds and talking to other breeders. I learned a tremendous amount of information on showing rabbits. I spent a lot of time talking to two judges in particular. They were very nice to the young people that were showing rabbits. After they were finished judging their breed (Satins and New Zealands), they each talked to me for about half an hour each. They explained what they were looking for in each breed and the different colors and sub classes.  One of them was from Indiana and the other from Southern Ohio. It was nice to talk to them. I had a surprisingly good time. I loved watching all the real small kids grooming their rabbits and bringing them up to the table. They ranged in age from 4 to 18 in the youth competition. I would have loved to take pictures of the little ones grooming their rabbits but respected their privacy and didn’t. We just got back to my brother’s. I didn’t sleep in the car or at the show, so I have now been awake for 35 hours straight. As expected, I am exhausted, my foot is killing me from all the walking, and I am very stuffed up (allergic to pet dander). I will post pictures I took at the show when I get back to my own computer and camera cord.

I was invited over to Jeff’s house tonight to play cards or dominoes, but think I am going to pass and go to bed instead. I sincerely hope that everyone has a very nice Easter with their families or loved ones if they celebrate Easter. The kids are with their mom for Easter this year and Brenden got very sick Friday and isn’t coming down. I plan on calling the kids in the morning and wishing them a happy Easter. I am going to spent Easter morning and afternoon at my brother’s house and then head up to Bay City after that. I hope to blog from my own computer tomorrow night. Have a great night and better tomorrow.
