I went to bed early last night. At 6:10 this morning, I woke up. The alarm was set for 8am, so it was way too early to get up. After laying in bed for 20 minutes, I finally got up. I think putting that old cast iron sink back on the wall wore me out last night. I built brackets for it like my roommate suggested and got it mounted back on the wall. Now that it is out of the way, we can get to work on the washer and dryer hookup. We’ve gathered a lot of the parts needed. We are trying to decide if we want the washer on the right or the left of the dryer. The washer lid opens front to back. The dryer door opens down. I guess it comes down to personal preference?
I forgot to call MARVIN (unemployment) yesterday so I am waiting until 8am to call today. That means I won’t get my check on Friday which is a bummer. I should get it Saturday though so that’s not too bad. I got busy with the sink and lost track of time.
The kids are coming over this weekend so I have been getting ready for their visit. I talked to my son and daughter last night. They are getting excited to see me. Friday, I am going to go grocery shopping so I don’t have to take them out to eat, which will be a big money saver. Brenden (my oldest) wants to meet me after school for dinner. That should be fun because I haven’t seen him since Christmas. Did I mention before how proud I am of him? He will be graduating from college this spring. I am also proud of my youngest son, Kevin, who is trying real hard in school. I am going to talk to him this weekend about that. I think he is trying so hard to please me. I want him to try so hard to please himself. I remember growing up that I was always trying to please everyone around me. It is a bad pattern to fall into, because then, you are always working too hard to please everyone else and you leave yourself out.
I am really getting to be impressed with Ubuntu. The only shortfall I see so far is in gaming. The games I like are not available for Linux yet. If it wasn’t for that, I would dump windows completely. I did discover a similar game to one of them that I play (freeware). Their music player is far superior to iTunes. The DVD movie player I have on Ubuntu is superior to any I have found for windows. File access is much easier too. Did I mention I love Ubuntu?
